Golden Wolves Fall to Dutchmen, 3-2

Hershey, Pa. (November 22, 2025) - Alvernia University (5-3-0, 3-3-0) fell to Lebanon Valley College (3-5-0, 3-3-0), 3-2, Saturday evening in a MAC men's ice hockey matchup at Hersheypark Arena. 

The Dutchmen held a two goal, 3-1 lead over the Golden Wolves heading into the third period and the Golden Wolves netted a goal in the third period but it was not enough as LVC secured the 3-2 victory. 

How it Happened 
  • The Dutchmen broke open the scoring in the first six minutes of the game when Owen Ames scored thanks to assists from Cade Helmer and Troy Andrews to make it a 1-0 LVC lead. 
  • LVC doubled its lead in the final five minutes of the first period after a Joey Pankowski goal made it a 2-0 game.
  • The Golden Wolves grabbed one back in the final 15 seconds of the first period when Leo Cabulis fired the puck into the back of the net to tally an unassisted goal and send the game to the first intermission with LVC holding a 2-1 advantage. 
  • The Dutchmen highlighted a one goal second period with a goal just 3:25 into the period after Tanner Tolliver assisted John King to push the LVC lead to two, 3-1. 
  • Alvernia recorded 13 shots on goal to LVC's nine in the second period but were unable to find the back of the net as the Dutchmen took a 3-1 lead into the final intermission of the day. 
  • The Golden Wolves came out and pulled within one in the first ten minutes of the third period after Frazer Dodd put the puck into the back of the net off assists from Jack Natyshak and Leo Cabulis but it was not enough as the Dutchmen fended off the Golden Wolves and secured the 3-2 victory and the weekend sweep. 

Inside the Box Score 
  • Leo Cabulis led the way for the Golden Wolves with a goal and an assist and also recorded a team high 11 faceoff wins. 
  • Frazer Dodd netted the second goal for the Golden Wolves and recorded 12 total shots on goal. 
  • Jack Natyshak also dished out an assist for the Golden Wolves and Edvin Robertsson fired eight shots on the Dutchmen goal. 
  • Will Augustine recorded 19 saves in goal for the Golden Wolves.

  • Alvernia is back in action next weekend when they travel up to Skidmore College for the Skidmore Thanksgiving Invitational with Skidmore, Tufts and the University of New England. The Golden Wolves take on host Skidmore College at 2:00 PM at the Saratoga City Rink.
