Golden Wolves Net Seven, Fly by Knights, 7-3

Reading, Pa. (December 6, 2025) - Alvernia University (6-6-0, 4-4-0) netted four goals in the third period en route to a 7-3 victory over Neumann University (7-3-1, 6-1-1) Saturday evening in a MAC men's ice hockey clash at Body Zone.

The Golden Wolves held a 3-1 advantage heading into the final period of hockey and then came out and put the puck in the net four more times to secure the four goal, 7-3 victory over the Knights.

Alvernia fifth-year Frazer Dodd had two goals on the evening to surpass Isaac Chapman's 25 career goals and take over as the Alvernia career goal leader. Dodd now sits at 26 career goals.

How it Happened
  • The Golden Wolves got things going in the first six minutes of the game after Charles Becnel and Anthony Piccininno connected with Frazer Dodd on a powerplay goal to make it a 1-0 Alvernia lead.
  • Alvernia doubled its lead just under a minute later when Piccininno found the back of the net thanks to assists from Gabriel Flammia and Matthew Davies to send the Golden Wolves into the room with a 2-0 advantage.
  • Neumann came out in the second period and cut the Alvernia lead in half thanks to a Nikolai Tishkevich goal five minutes into the period to make it a 2-1 game.
  • Alvernia would answer in the final seven minutes of the second period after Piccininno tallied his third point of the game after assisting Edvin Robertsson to give the Golden Wolves a two goal advantage heading into the final intermission.
  • The Golden Wolves then came out and rattled off four goals in the final 20 minutes of hockey and Dodd got things going in the first three minutes of the period when he netted an unassisted goal to make it a 4-1 game.
  • Neumann answered five minutes later when Hayden Pimm found the back of the net to make it a 4-2 game but the Golden Wolves responded with two goals in the next seven minutes to push the lead up to four, 6-2. Will White found the back of the net thanks to a Becnel assist and Matthew Imbriano assisted Vincent Servizzi to make it 6-2.
  • Neumann's Tishkevich netted his second goal of the game in the final three minutes of the contest but the Golden Wolves responded a minute later with a Becnel empty net goal to seal the four goal, 7-3 victory over Neumann.
