Velazquez opened the with a team-best 16 points in Alvernia’s 62-47 loss to #6/9 Messiah College. She also pulled down eight rebounds in 20 minutes. She followed that with 14 points and 14 rebounds to record her first double-double of the season as Alvernia got back on the winning track with a 15-point win over conference foe Rosemont. For the
week, Velazquez shot 50 percent from the floor. She established a new season high with the 14 rebounds against Rosemont and tied a season best with four steals.
