Matthew Lackman won his weight class at the NCAA Division III Southeast Regional to secure a trip to the Division III National Championship in Cedar Rapids, Iowa next week. Lackman, wrestling at 165 pounds, started his tournament with a 44 second fall over King’s Jackson marcantonio before recording a fall in 1:50 over James Wiggins of SVU in round two. In the quarterfinal, Lackman recorded a fall in 3:44 over Wilkes’ James Geiger. Lackman then won a 2-0 decision over Ray Martin of Gettysburg to move into the championship, where he then defeated Averett’s Alex Turley in a 4-0 decision to win the weight class.
