Matthew Lackman made Alvernia history on Saturday, becoming the first NCAA National Champion for Alvernia. Lackman won the 165 lb title at the Division III Men’s Wrestling National Championship, taking down Augsburg’s Cooper Willis by a 6-0 decision. Lackman also won via three decisions and a sudden victory to make his way to the championship bout on Saturday. He gave up just two points - both on escapes - throughout the tournament.
