Physical Education Center

The Physical Education Center (PEC) was constructed in 1987. Since that time, the PEC has gone through several renovation projects. Most recently, the PEC was renovated to include five home locker rooms and additional visiting team designated space. The basement of the PEC was remodeled in 2019 to include space for Alvernia’s Men’s and Women’s Wrestling teams. That space was expanded in 2025.

The PEC is home to the Alvernia Athletic Department, Sports Medicine Clinic, and a secondary athlete weight room (the primary weight room is located in the PLEX).

Jack McCloskey Court in the PEC plays host to Men’s and Women’s Basketball, Men’s and Women’s Volleyball, and Men’s and Women’s Wrestling. Jack McCloskey Court is named after long-time Men’s Basketball Coach and Associate Athletic Director, Jack McCloskey. Jack coached at Alvernia from 1991-2004. His team’s made four NCAA Tournament Appearances including a memorable run to the NCAA Division III Final Four in 1997. The court in the PEC was dedicated in his honor in 2013 following his passing in 2012.
