Streaks Continue For Crusaders

Hoffman Shuts Out Second Straight PAC Opponent

Aston, Pa. (Sept. 29, 2007) – Alvernia College earned its seventh consecutive win and second straight via shutout with a 2-0 win over Neumann College Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania Athletic Conference field hockey action at Neumann.

Junior Christy Miller (Alburtis, Pa./Brandywine Heights) scored the opener and assisted senior Dawn Beiswenger (Denver, Pa./Garden Spot) on the insurance goal late in regulation. Miller converted the first goal unassisted in the 33rd minute and the second came in the 64th minute.

Junior Audrey Hoffman (Mertztown, Pa./Brandywine Heights) made four saves in net for the Crusaders and improved her shutout streak to 188:05 over the past two-plus games.

Alvernia will continue the conference schedule at Misericordia University Tuesday afternoon.
