Huntington, Pa. (Oct. 12, 2010) - Alvernia University (6-7) tallied the first goal of the game, but #20 Juniata College (12-3) came back with a pair for a 2-1 win in non-conference field hockey action at Juniata Tuesday afternoon.

The Crusaders opened the scoring in the 14th minute when sophomore Lauren Guido (Fleetwood, Pa./Fleetwood) notched her second goal of the year assisted by Kyle Dillman (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin).

The lead lasted for 12 minutes until the Eagles scored on a redirection in front of Alvernia goalie Abby Eby (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot).  The game remained tied into the second half and late into the game until Juniata notched a goal with just over three minutes remaining for the 2-1 win.

Eby finished with five saves while Juniata keeper Moira Nugent was credited with just one save.

Alvernia returns home to host Wilkes this Thursday then starts a string of four straight conference games on Saturday.  The Crusaders are currently in a three-way tie for fourth in the conference with Albright and Arcadia.  Widener University sits a half game back at 1-1.
