BOX SCORE

Winchester, Va. (Oct. 16, 2010) - Junior defender Erin Solley (Reading, Pa./Oley Valley) scored her first career goal and sparked a run of three straight for Alvernia University (8-7, 2-2) in a 4-1 win at Shenandoah University (7-6, 0-4) Saturday afternoon in a Commonwealth Conference field hockey match up.

The Crusaders struck first with an unassisted goal from Kyle Dillman (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin) in the 26th minute, but the Hornets got it back with a goal just after halftime.

Solley then finished a pass from Sam Landis (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) with 14 minutes left and then assisted on a Tonya Rutt (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) goal for added insurance, and Landis set up Ashley Tatangelo (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin) for the game's final goal.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule with a pivotal game at Widener on Tuesday afternoon.
