Elizabethtown, Pa. (Oct. 2, 2010) - Elizabethtown College (6-3, 1-1) scored 17 seconds into overtime for a 2-1 win over Alvernia University (6-4, 1-1) Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference field hockey action at Elizabethtown.

The Blue Jays opened the scoring with a goal in the 48th minute and Alvernia answered quickly when sophomore Brittany Barcus (Atglen, Pa./Octorara) scored her second goal in as many games just a minute later.

The game headed to overtime where Etown took the opening draw down the field and with one cross and a shot leveled the conference record for both teams.

Alvernia junior Abby Eby (New Holland, Pa./Garden Spot) made seven saves in net for the Crusaders. 

Alvernia will next play a non-conference game at King's College on Wednesday evening.
