Senior rightfielder
Steve DeBarberie (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) hit a first-inning home run to left and scored a pair of runs, and sophomore
Jeremy Hausdorf (Floral Park, N.Y./St. Mary's) earned his first win of the season in relief.

Alvernia tied the score quickly with a single run in the bottom of the sixth. DeBarberie doubled to lead off the inning, and came in to score on a single to right off the bat of
Chris Ray (Exton, Pa./West Chester Henderson). The Crusaders threatened to take the lead, but left the bases loaded with
Steve Bealer (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) flew out to center to end the inning.
NJCU loaded the bases in the top of the seventh, but senior reliever
James Hein (Freemansburg, Pa./Liberty) closed the door with a strikeout. Hein started the eighth with a strikeout and left for Hausdorf in a tie game having struck out the only two batters he faced.
Hausdorf allowed a single and a double to put runners on second and third with one out, but got out of the jam with a flyout to right and a grounder to third.
Eric Domitrovits (Northampton, Pa./Northampton), a late-inning sub at first base, hit a fly ball to the track in center to open the eighth and got to third when the NJCU centerfielder couldn't make the play. He and Ray were on first and second when
Brian Witkowski (Ewing, N.J./Notre Dame) hit a grounder up the middle. The pitcher bobbled the ball then threw past first to the fence allowing both runners to score and Witkowski to get all the way to third.
Designated hitter
Reid Martin (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) hit a fly ball to center that wasn't deep enough to score Witkowski, but Bealer reached on his second bunt single of the day to push across the eighth run.
Junior closer
Austin Rohrbach (Maxatawny, Pa./Kutztown) pitched a scoreless ninth to record his second save of the season.
Chuck Krichling (Chesterfield, N.J./Northern Burlington) joined Bealer, DeBarberie, and Ray with two hits on the day.
