Crusaders Get By Albright

Lions Held Shotless

BOX SCORE Reading, Pa. (Oct. 19, 2011) - Alvernia (10-5, 3-1 Comm.) dominated the visiting Lions from Albright (4-12, 0-4 Comm.) this afternoon in Commonwealth Conference action at Schlager Memorial Feild holding them without a shot the entire game.  The Crusaders tallied 19 shots and 14 corners on their way to the 2-0 victory.

Alvernia opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Sam Landis (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) connected for her team-leading ninth goal of the season to put Alvernia up 1-0.  She was assisted by Miranda Peto (Phoenixville, Pa./Phoenixville) who played a perfect pass into the circle to Landis.

It appeared as though the game would remain 1-0 through its entirety, but sophomore Amanda Galanti (Middletown, NJ/Marine Acad. of Sci/Tech) found a pass from Kyle Dillman (Hershey, Pa./Lower Dauphin#) in the 65th minute that she redirected into goal for her first career goal to give Alvernia some insurance.

The Crusaders return to action when they travel to Messiah this Saturday for a Commonwealth Conference game beginning at 1:00pm.
