Reading, Pa. (Jan. 27, 2012) - Alvernia University (12-5, 4-3) and Widener University (12-6, 3-4) open up the second half of the conference schedule Saturday at the Physical Education Center. Following the game Alvernia will host its annual alumni game.

The Pride have four players in double figures led by Perry Wright at 15.3 points. Jack Brennan led the Pride in the first game against Alvernia this year with 12 points and nine rebounds. Widener closed the first half of the conference schedule with a much-needed win over Lebanon Valley to stand at 3-4 in conference entering Saturday's game.

The Crusaders are led by
Josh Vargas (Allentown, Pa./Faith Christian Academy) who is scoring 14.4 points per game with five games at 20 points or better. Two other players join him in double figures,
Cory Boone (Howard, Pa./Bald Eagle) at 10.9 ppg and
Stefan Thompson (Philadelphia, Pa./G.A.M.P.) at 11.1. The Crusaders finished the first half of the league schedule with a bit of a disappointing result at Messiah losing 71-57. Freshman
Terrance Bridgers (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) scored a career-high 23 points in the win at Widener earlier this season.
