Crusaders Split A Pair At Arcadia

Philadelphia, Pa. (Apr. 26, 2014) - Alvernia University (25-11, 14-7) split a doubleheader at Arcadia University (8-25-1, 6-15) Saturday afternoon in Commonwealth Conference baseball action at Arcadia.

The Crusaders enter the postseason as the #2 seed and will face #3 Messiah College in the first round next Thursday at Santander Bank Stadium in York.  Widener University is the top seed and will face #4 Lebanon Valley in the other opener.

Arcadia got a 6-5, walk-off win in game one on Saturday with a double to left plate two against Alvernia closer Kevin Becker-Menditto (Frederick, Md./Walkersville).  The Crusaders pounded out 16 hits and plated 17 runs in a 17-1 win in game two.

Dan George (Delran, N.J./Delran) went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and three RBIs in game two including his first home run of the season.  Five other players had 2-hit games for the Crusaders in game two.  Zach Nadolny (Sparks, Md./Bel Air) gave up a run on five hits with eight strikeouts over six innings to get the win.
