BOX SCORE Lynchburg, Va. (Sept. 6, 2014) – #19 Lynchburg College (2-2) scored two goals in the second half to take a 2-1 win over Alvernia University (1-2) Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Crusaders took a 1-0 lead at the 23:00 mark in the first half.  Sophomore Margaret Wentzel picked up the goal on a breakaway past the Hornets defense. Alvernia held Lynchburg scoreless through the first, however the Hornets netted two goals in the second half to secure the win.

Alvernia senior Erin Wunsch had 19 saves.

Alvernia returns to action Tuesday in a 7:00 p.m. game at Misericordia University.
