Sophomore
Andrea Wysocki put the Crusaders on the board early, netting her fourth of the season just eight minutes into the contest. On a breakaway, Wysocki got the best of Stevenson goalie Talia Parish, beating her 1-on-1 to give Alvernia the 1-0 lead.
The Crusaders took to the goal again less than ten minutes later as
Margaret Wentzel won a 50/50 ball with the Mustangs defense and pushed in her first of the day for the 2-0 margin.
With five minutes left in the first half, Alvernia gave itself some insurance, pulling ahead 3-0. Capitalizing on a corner opportunity,
Summer Liberto took the feed from Wentzel on the left post and knocked in her 13th of the season.
The Crusaders final tally came just before the 45th minutes. Wentzel took advantage of her own shot from five yards out, taking the rebound off of Parish's save and driving in her 30th of the year.
Goalie
Rebecca Brosious earned the win in goal for Alvernia, collecting seven saves.
Liberto was named the tournament MVP. Liberto was a crucial part of the Crusaders ECAC run, notching the game-winning overtime goal in the quarterfinals and netting both goals for Alvernia in the semifinal. Liberto graduates sixth all-time in career goals scored with 31 and total points with 75.
Wentzel's two goal day marked her place at the top of the Alvernia record books. Wentzel is currently ranked fourth in the nation in goals, not counting her two tallies this weekend. She currently sits in third in Alvernia career goals and total points and fourth in assists.
Alvernia won its first ECAC crown in 2013, rising through the bracket as the #8 seed. After taking a 4-3 overtime win against #1-seed Drew in the quarterfinal, the Crusaders defeated #4 Kean in the semis and claimed the trophy with a 1-0 win over Stevens Institute of Technology.
