Reading, Pa. (Mar. 27, 2015) - Alvernia University (10-6, 3-1) hosts Widener University (6-5, 2-0) Friday afternoon for the first of a three-game series in Commonwealth Conference baseball.
The Pride are the defending champions of the Commonwealth Conference and selected to finish first again in the preseason coaches poll. The Crusaders finished runner-up in last years championship and were picked second on the preseason poll.

Widener LeadersSophomore outfielder Greg McDonough is batting .429 through 11 games with a team-high 11 RBIs. Six of his 15 base hits have gone for extra bases. McDonough is 7-for-7 in stolen base attempts. As a team, the Pride is 23-for-27 in stolen bases.
On the mound, the Pride have a pair of pitchers with five appearance to date without allowing a run, Kyle McKelvy and Kevin Scisorek. Senior Robert Barth has both conference wins for the Pride--a 9-8 win over Lebanon Valley and a 13-0 blanking of Arcadia.
