Reading, Pa. (Apr. 21, 2015) - Messiah College (10-4, 5-2) defeated Alvernia University (3-12, 0-7) by an 11-4 final Tuesday evening in Commonwealth Conference men's lacrosse action at Alvernia.
The Crusaders got an early goal from
Colin Rothweiler to tie the score at 1-1 then scored back-to-back goals separated by 21 seconds early in the second quarter to tie the game at 3-3.
Messiah broke the tie with just over four minutes left in the quarter and added another tally with under 20 seconds left for a 5-3 lead at the halftime break.
The Falcons scored the first four goals of the third quarter for a commanding 9-3 lead, and after the Crusaders scored the final goal of the third, Messiah scored two in the fourth for the final margin.
Alvernia concludes the season Saturday at Lycoming.
