Reading, Pa. (Oct. 29, 2016) – Lebanon Valley College (11-5, 5-3) scored four goals in the second half of a 5-1 win over Alvernia University (6-12, 3-5) Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth Women's Soccer action on Alvernia's Turf Field.
LVC's Meghan Ross scored in the 23rd minute to give the Dutchmen a 1-0 advantage into the half. Lebanon Valley pulled ahead 4-0 before the Crusaders collected their first tally.
In the 80
th minute,
Taylor Gough ripped a free kick from far left, driving the ball to the upper right corner just out of the reach of Dutchmen goalie Erin Angelini her first collegiate goal.
The Dutchmen reestablished their four point lead in the 87
th minute, but Alvernia added its second goal with just 42 seconds remaining in the contest as
Allison Hyde connected on her third of the year.
Lauren Gough headed the delivery from
Annie Rose to Hyde, who drove the shot from out in front to the lower left corner.
Taylor Smith and
Kelcey Hutchinson shared time in goal for Alvernia, combining for 5 saves.
