Williamsport, Pa. (Oct. 8, 2016) - Junior
Chris Guth put away his first goal of the season late in the first half to push Alvernia University (2-9, 1-1) to a 1-0 victory over Lycoming College (6-4-3, 1-1-1) Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action at Lycoming.
With eight minutes left before the half,
Kevin MacFarland found Guth on a throw in opportunity. Guth gained the advantage on his defender, taking control of the ball with a header that he drove into the left corner of the net for the 1-0 margin.
Guth's goal would be the only offense the Crusaders would need as
Zach Rider was flawless in goal, collecting six saves in the second half and nine on the day to keep the Warriors off the board.
Alvernia takes to the road again on Tuesday, traveling to Arcadia for another conference matchup. Game start is set for 7:00 p.m.
