Williamsport, Pa. (Apr. 30, 2016) - Lycoming College (12-4, 4-4) used consistent offense across both halves to capture a 22-9 victory over Alvernia University (6-9, 2-6) Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's lacrosse action at Lycoming.
Lycoming was hot through the first half, putting together a pair for four goal runs as part of a 13-goal half.
The Crusaders notched five goals across the first half.
Abby McCarthy netted the first goal of the contest, and followed with a second one with just over ten minutes before the half.
Tequila Donnelly and
Bridget Reynolds partnered up for the rest of the Crusaders offense in the first as Donnelly put away a pair of goals with an assist from Reynolds, and Reynolds notched her third of the year on the pass from Donnelly.
Lycoming continued to produce offensively in the second half, outscoring the Crusaders 9-4. Reynolds tacked on two more goals to her name in the half, while
Julie Sutton tallied a pair including the final goal of the contest.
Colleen Reilly and
Kallie Taylor both saw time in goal for Alvernia, combining for 6 saves.
