Reading, Pa. (Sept.13, 2016) - Alvernia University (2-6) fell in three straight sets to Messiah College (7-1) Tuesday evening in MAC Commonwealth Conference women's volleyball action.
The Crusaders led midway through the first set with a score of 17-13, but a late game rally by the Falcons erased the advantage. The Crusaders then trailed by a single point, 23-22, however the Falcons closed out the set, 25-22.
Messiah took an early lead in the final set, but Alvernia rallied back to take the lead 17-16. After falling behind 20-18, the Falcons went on a four point rally to push them to a 25-21 final set victory.
The Crusaders were lead by Kristin Sipling with nine kills and two blocks.
Laura Wachowicz added five kills and 10 digs.
Alvernia continues its MAC Commonwealth schedule on Wednesday, September 21
st, traveling to Hood College.
