BOX SCORE Glenside, Pa (Oct. 7, 2017) - Three different players netted shots for the Golden Wolves on the to way a 3-1 Alvernia University (6-6, 2-1) win over Arcadia University (8-5, 1-2) on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth Conference field hockey action at Arcadia.
Alvernia got on the board early in the first half. Early in the eighth minute of play,
Morgan Mondschein sent a cross in front of the goal to
Andrea Wysocki, who shot and scored on the short side of the net.
Just over four minutes later, Mondschein scored a goal of her own. Working off of a breakaway,
Malorie McCoy fed a pass into Mondschein. Mondschein had only the goalie to beat, and sent a shot by her to put the Golden Wolves up 2-0.
Two minutes before the end of the first half, Arcadia cut into Alvernia's lead when Arcadia's Michaela Ferlow scored off a rebound from teammate Lindsay Bechtold.
The score would remain 2-1 in favor of the Golden Wolves for the nearly 30 minutes.
With just over eight minutes remaining in the game, Reagan Downey scored an insurance goal for the Golden Wolves. Downey was able to send in a shot following a scramble in the circle, putting Alvernia up 3-1.

The Golden Wolves kick off a three-game week on Monday when they travel to Marywood University to take on the Pacers.
