Greenville, Pa. (Feb. 24, 2017) - Alvernia University (8-5, 0-4) dropped a 3-0 decision at Thiel College (4-8, 2-4) Friday evening in Continental Volleyball Conference action.
The Crusaders were led by freshman
Collin Welteroth who had a match-high 13 kills.
Thiel opened the night with a 25-16 win in set number one then followed with wins of 25-21 and 25-20.
The Tomcats hit an impressive .500 in the first set hammering down 15 kills with just three errors on 24 attempts.
Charlie Saloum led the Crusaders with six digs and
Justin Gibbs dished out a team-best 22 assists.
Alvernia returns home and continues the season next Friday hosting Rutgers-Newark and St. Joe's (Long Island) in a tri-match.
