Westminster, Md. (Sept, 8, 2017) - Alvernia University (4-2) took a 15-7 decision in the deciding set for a 3-2 win over Goucher College (0-5) Friday afternoon in non-conference women's volleyball action at the McDaniel Quad Match.

The teams alternated set wins with Alvernia opening the match with a 25-17 win.  Goucher took the second set 25-20 and Alvernia rebounded for a 25-14 win in the third set.  Goucher forced the fifth set with a 25-17 win in the fourth.

Alvernia senior Kristen Sipling led the way for the Golden Wolves with 28 kills.  Aubrey Gruwell-Keating had 16 digs to lead the team and Abby O'Donnell, who recently went over 1,000 career assists, handed out 43 assists on the night.

Alvernia will continue the McDaniel Quad Match on Saturday playing St. Mary's College (Md.) and the host Green Terror.
