Reading, Pa. (Oct. 23, 2018) - Stevenson University (18-11, 7-0) hit better than .375 in each of the final three sets for a 3-1 win over Alvernia University (4-16, 0-7) Tuesday evening in MAC Commonwealth women's volleyball action at Jack McCloskey Court.
Alvernia was able to use a couple key runs in the opening set to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Â The Golden Wolves ran off seven straight points to take a 13-9 lead midway through then a run of four straight points to break a 19-all tie later had them set up for a 25-22 win.
The Mustangs shuffled the lineup for the second set and scored 10 of the first 11 points and hit .560 in the set with 15 kills and one error on 25 swings on the way to a 25-8 win.
The guests pulled ahead in the match with a 25-14 win in the third set then closed out the match 25-16 in the fourth.
Alvernia got a team-high 12 kills from
Olivia Frutiger and 13 digs from
Gabrielle DeLucca. Â Stevenson senior Moriah Savage finished with 10 kills on the night and went over 1,000 for her career.
Alvernia wraps up the conference schedule Thursday at Albright and the regular season Saturday at Ramapo.
