The Golden Wolves took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth when
Ben Dubas blasted a solo homerun.
Alvernia maintained its 1-0 lead until St. John's Jack Wingerd hit a solo shot of his own to tie the game a 1-1 in the top of the sixth.
St. John's broke the tie in the top of the ninth with an RBI on the last at bat of the inning to go up 2-1.
The Golden Wolves went 1-2-3 in the bottom of the ninth to fall 2-1.
Sean Esch pitched seven innings for Alvernia and allowed five hits and one run. Tim Carfey allowed one run in one inning of relief.
The Golden Wolves continue their Florida schedule with a noon game on Wednesday against Otterbein.
