Glenside, Pa. (Apr. 12, 2018) - Arcadia University (3-4, 1-1) defeated Alvernia University (1-8, 0-3) by a 6-3 final Thursday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth women's tennis at Arcadia.

Alvernia earned an impressive 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, but Arcadia had a 2-1 lead after wins at No. 2 and 3 doubles.

Alvernia junior Amanda Phillips won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and after dropping the opening set at No. 4 singles 6-0, Leah Kemper evened her match with a 7-5 win in the second set and took the match with an 11-9 win in the pro set.

Alvernia is back in action on Saturday when it hosts Lebanon Valley College at Wilson High School.
