Reading, Pa. (Apr. 18, 2018) - Senior Ben Dubas launched a solo home run to spark a 3-run fourth inning and junior Zack Landy struck out nine batters over seven innings as Alvernia University (23-9) defeated Moravian College (16-14) by a 3-0 final Wednesday afternoon in non-conference baseball at Angelica Park.

Colin Rieger drove in a run on a sacrifice fly and Logan Levan brought in another with a bunt.

Zandy struck out five batters over the first two innings and didn't allow a run on five hits.

Michael Griffin threw an inning and two-thirds and Nicholas Marotta got the final out for his first save.

Dillon Dunne was 2-for-4 in the leadoff spot and Alex Salesky also went 2-for-4.

Landy gave up a leadoff single in the first but struck out the side to strand the runner.  He struck out two in the second, two in the fourth, and two more in the seventh--his final inning of work.

Alvernia returns to the conference schedule Friday at Stevenson.
