(Apr. 18, 2018) - Senior Ben Dubas launched a solo home run to spark a 3-run fourth inning and junior Zack Landy struck out nine batters over seven innings as Alvernia University (23-9) defeated Moravian College (16-14) by a 3-0 final Wednesday afternoon in non-conference baseball at Angelica Park.
Colin Rieger drove in a run on a sacrifice fly and Logan Levan brought in another with a bunt.
Zandy struck out five batters over the first two innings and didn't allow a run on five hits.
Michael Griffin threw an inning and two-thirds and Nicholas Marotta got the final out for his first save.
Dillon Dunne was 2-for-4 in the leadoff spot and Alex Salesky also went 2-for-4.
Landy gave up a leadoff single in the first but struck out the side to strand the runner. Â He struck out two in the second, two in the fourth, and two more in the seventh--his final inning of work.
