Reading, Pa (Sept. 15, 2018) - Eastern University (4-2) scored three goals in less than ten minutes in the second half to break a 1-1 tie and take a 4-1 win over Alvernia University (2-4-1) in non-conference men's soccer action at Alvernia on Saturday evening at Alvernia.
The Eagles and Golden Wolves were gridlocked going into the half, with Alvernia failing to get a shot on goal in the first 45 minutes.
The Eagles broke the scoreless tie three minutes into the second half with a goal from Billy Walenda off the left post.

Jay Ringer took an initial shot, which was saved, and Kreider gathered up the rebound for the put back goal.
Eastern than opened up the scoring 15 minutes later in what would be the first goal of three goals in a nine minute span. Jake Sankey started off the scoring for Eastern with a goal off of a corner kick from Colin Furlong. About a minute later, Cade Harmon scored for the Eagles with a goal off the left edge. Jacob Myers put a cap on the scoring with a header goal earlier in the 87th minute.
The Golden Wolves were unable to get a shot off in the final 13 minutes, falling to the Eagles 4-1.
Alvernia continues its non-conference schedule on Wednesday on the road against Elizabethtown in the annual Kicks for Cancer game.
