Frederick, Md. (Sept. 25, 2018) - Hood College (10-6, 1-2) defeated Alvernia University (3-10, 0-3) Tuesday evening in MAC Commonwealth women's volleyball action at Hood.

The Blazers took a 2-0 lead in the match with a 25-13 win in the first set and a 25-23 win in the second.  Alvernia got back in the match with a 25-21 in the third set, but Hood closed out the win 25-20 in the fourth.

Olivia Frutiger led the way for Alvernia with a career-high 22 kills.  Freshman Alexis Schwenk had a team-high 36 assists and Gabrielle DeLucca had a match-high 18 kills.

Alvernia continues the schedule next Wednesday when it hosts Widener University.
