Reading, Pa. (Oct. 5, 2019) - Alvernia University (3-8) jumped out to a 2-0 lead on its way to a 3-1 win over Rutgers-Camden (9-8) Saturday morning in non-conference women's volleyball action at Jack McCloskey Court.
The Golden Wolves won the first 10 points of the first set and cruised to a 25-17 win in the opener. They added a 25-21 win in the second set then saw Rutgers-Camden bounce back with a 25-18 win in the third. The Wolves won nine of the first 10 points in the fourth set and held on the 25-21 win.
Sophomore outside
Paige Stern was impressive all day pounding down a career-high 22 kills on a match-best 51 attempts.Â
Taylor Suto added a dozen kills.
Alexis Schwenk had 42 assists and three players reached double digits in digs led by
Gabrielle DeLucca who had 20.
Alvernia continues the season Wednesday at conference rival Widener.
