Reading, Pa. (Dec. 1, 2019) - Sunday afternoon's Men's Basketball game between Alvernia University (3-2) and Immaculata University (0-3) was postponed at halftime due to a power outage that affected all of Alvernia's main campus.
Alvernia was leading the game 43-35 and it will be picked up at the start of the second half at a day and time to be determined.
With both teams still in the locker room, the lights in the Physical Education Center flickered then came back on at about half power with the building generator kicking in. The teams returned to the floor on their regular schedule and while they were staying loose, a leak developed in a drainage pipe that runs under the ceiling.
The decision was made to postpone the game. The two schools will work to determine a date that works to resume the game.
