Reading, Pa. (Dec. 7, 2019) - King's College (1-6-1) scored a pair of goals in the first period then answered Alvernia University (2-7) goals in the second and third periods for a 4-2 Saturday afternoon in the consolation game of the Keystone Holiday Classic at The BodyZone.
The Monarchs scored both first period goals in a 49-second span, and held the 2-0 advantage until
Olivia Gilida scored on a power play assisted by
Amber Steinhilpert.
King's answered a little over a minute later to move back ahead 3-1.
Gilida scored her second goal of the game, even strength, with four minutes left in the second period assisted by
Abby Reisinger, and the Wolves hit the second intermission trailing by a goal at 3-2.
King's found the back of the net on the power play just about midway through the third period for the final goal of the game.
Julia Beaven made six saves for Alvernia and gave up the first two goals.Â
Isabelle Hovel made 24 saves in net for the Wolves.
Alvernia is off for the Christmas break and returns to action at Wilkes on Sunday, January 5.
