Bridgewater Tops Alvernia, 23-9

Ritchie Leads Alvernia With Four Goals

Bridgewater, Va. (Mar. 23, 2019) - Bridgewater College (7-2) defeated Alvernia University (3-5) by a 23-9 final Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's lacrosse action at Bridgewater.

The Eagles scored six straight goals in the first quarter to open up a 7-1 lead then scored the final five goals of the first half to take a 12-3 lead at halftime.

Andrew Ritchie scored four goals with an assist and Jarret Abernethy added three goals and an assist for the Golden Wolves.  Bridgewater had three players score four goals apiece.

Jacob O'Donnell made 24 saves in net for Alvernia.

Bridgewater won 25-of-36 faceoffs.

The Golden Wolves open the conference schedule hosting Lebanon Valley on Wednesday.
