Otterbein Earns A 7-2 Win Over Alvernia

Ginder Doubles Twice And Scores Both Runs For Wolves

Ft. Myers, Fla. (Mar. 7, 2019) - Otterbein College (3-4) scored three in the second and two more in the fourth on its way to a 7-2 win over Alvernia University (5-3) Thursday afternoon at the Player Development Complex.

Otterbein used a walk and a hit batter to put two on with one out in the second.  It got a two-run single and a sacrifice fly to take a 3-0 lead after two. The Cardinals tacked on two more in the fourth on a solo homer and a two-out double.

Alvernia scored single runs in the fifth and the seventh.  In both innings freshman Joe Ginder doubled and was drove in by Ian Shaffer in the fifth and Logan Levan in the seventh.

Otterbein added a pair of unearned runs in the top of the ninth.

Ginder had the only multi-hit game for the Wolves going 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored.

Alvernia closes its spring break trip with a doubleheader against Defiance on Friday.
