Alvernia Opens Home Quad Match With 3-0 Win Over Hiram

McGinley And Matthews Rack Up Nine Kills Each

Reading, Pa. (Mar. 8, 2019) - Logan McGinley and Spencer Matthews had nine kills each to lead Alvernia University (5-10) to a 3-0 win over Hiram College (3-16) Friday evening in match one of the Alvernia Men's Volleyball Quad Match at Jack McCloskey Court.

Alvernia pounded down 15 kills with just three errors in the opening set to take a 25-22 win.  The Golden Wolves won the second and third sets by 25-15 scores.

Mike Monczewski had a team-high 31 assists and four aces.  Jon Demeter led the way with 13 digs.

Alvernia continues returns to the court Saturday morning at 10:00 to face #4 Stevens.
