Alvernia Cruises By Hood, 8-1

Reading, Pa. (Apr. 6, 2019) - Alvernia University (5-4, 1-1) defeated a depleted Hood College (0-5, 0-2) by an 8-1 final Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth men's tennis action at Governor Mifflin Courts.

Hood traveled with four players and needed to forfeit the No. 3 doubles match and the No. 5 and No. 6 singles matches.

Alvernia won the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches to jump out to a 3-0 lead then earned wins at No. 1, 3, and 4 singles.

Michael Brophy picked up the 8-2 win with Reid Hoff and No. 1 doubles and took a straight set win at No. 1 singles.

Alvernia continues the conference schedule at Lebanon Valley on Wednesday.
