Reading, Pa. (Sept. 11, 2019) - Lycoming College (6-3, 1-0) won the last three sets of the match for a 3-1 win over Alvernia University (1-5, 0-1) Wednesday evening in MAC Commonwealth women's volleyball action at Jack McCloskey Court.
Alvernia opened the day with a 25-22 win in the first set, and Lycoming leveled the match with a 25-15 win in the second.
The Wolves stormed out to a 7-0 lead in the third set before a Lycoming timeout. The Warriors slowly chipped away and eventually pulled out a 25-23 win for a 2-1 lead in the match. They added another 25-23 win in the fourth set to open the conference schedule with a win.
Mikala Persky had 14 kills for the Wolves and
Alexis Schwenk finished with 20 assists.Â
Gabrielle DeLucca had a team-high 17 digs for Alvernia.
The Golden Wolves continue the conference schedule on Tuesday at Lebanon Valley.
