Carlisle, Pa. (Sept. 14, 2019) - After being held scoreless in the first half, Dickinson College (3-0-2) scored six second half goals en route to a 6-1 win over Alvernia University (2-2) on Saturday afternoon in non-conference women's soccer action at Dickinson.
The Red Devils fired 15 shots to Alvernia's one shot in the first half, but were unable to convert.Â
Dickinson came out firing in the second frame, scoring two goals in 13 seconds to take a 2-0 lead.
Eight minutes later, the Red Devils added another two goals in less than a minute to double their lead to 4-0.
Dickinson added two goals in the 76t and 87th minute, respectively, to go up 6-0.
Alvernia spoiled the shutout attempt in the 88th minute when
Kyla Gibson converted a penalty kick to put the Golden Wolves on the board.Â
Dickinson finished the game with 33 shots, including 15 shots on goal.
Alvernia looks to rebound on Tuesday when the Golden Wolves head to Goucher College for a road match at 7:00 PM.
