Ft. Myers, Florida (March 4, 2020) - Alvernia University (6-4) had three innings of two or more runs to defeat Thiel College (3-1) on Wednesday in spring break baseball action in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Alvernia jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when Nick Nutile and TJ McNeely each drove in a run for the Golden Wolves.

Alvernia added four more runs in the bottom of the third, including two runs off of a two-run double by Billy Dougar to extend Alvernia's lead to 6-0.

Thiel got one back in the top of the fifth on a sacrifice fly, but Thiel would never get any closer.

The Golden Wolves added four more runs over the final two innings, including a two-run double  in the bottom of the eight by Joe Ginder, to secure the 10-1 win. 

McNeely finished with three hits and two RBI's to lead Alvernia's offensive efforts.

Shane Ostrowsky pitched eight innings for Alvernia, giving up just one run and striking out four. Mike Cirilli made a relief appearance for the final inning, striking out two of the four batters he faced. 

Alvernia continues its trip to Ft. Myer;s on Thursday with a game against Olivett at 3:00 PM
