Reading, Pa. (Oct. 30, 2021) - Hood College (5-12-1, 3-5) spoiled Alvernia University's (3-15, 0-8) regular season finale on Saturday evening with a 5-0 win over the Golden Wolves in MAC Commonwealth women's soccer action at Alvernia.

Five different Blazers scored for Hood, starting with Caroline Roberts in the 28th minute.

Hood extended its lead to 2-0 on a goal in the 34th minute. 

The Golden Wolves had two looks in the final minutes of the first half but were unable to convert as Hood took a 2-0 lead into the half. 

The Golden Wolves had the first shot, a wide attempt by Kyla Gibson, of the second half but, again, were unable to find the back of the net.

The Blazers added to their lead in the 61st minute and extended it to 4-0 with a goal in the 76th minute.

Alvernia had two close opportunities on shots on net by Olivia Malone and Shaina Mazzocca in the 77th and 78th minute, but the Blazers held strong.

Hood capped off its scoring in the 82nd minute with its fifth and final goal for the 5-0 win.

Lily Sankey made four saves in the start while Brynn Bock made one save in the second half.

The 5-0 loss marked the end of Alvernia's 2021 season. The Golden Wolves finished 3-15 overall and 0-8 in MAC Commonwealth play. Kyla Gibson led Alvernia's offense on the season with five goals and three assists. Eden Jahn finished with four goals. Bock and Sankey split the season nearly 50/50 in net. Bock finished with 62 saves and a 2.20 goals against average. Sankey finished with 61 saves and a 2.27 goals against average.
