Reading, Pa. (Nov. 19, 2021) - Alvernia University Women's Ice Hockey is set to take on Neumann University on Saturday at the Santander Arena in Downtown Reading, Pa.
This will be Alvernia's second time playing at Santander, the home of the ECHL Reading Royals. The Golden Wolves hosted Manhattanville College at Santander back in February of 2020 as part of Alvernia's inaugural season. The game was a partnership for the Royal's Pink the Rink game later that evening. Alvernia also participated in support of Breast Cancer Awareness, donning pink jerseys for their game with the Valiants, and then walking out on the ice with breast cancer survivors during the Royals game later that night.
When Alvernia takes on Neumann on Saturday the Golden Wolves will again be playing for a cause. Saturday's game with the Knights will be a Mental Health Awareness game, which is a joint partnership with the Knights.
Alvernia will be playing in green jerseys when they take on Neumann. Green is the international color for mental health awareness.
The Golden Wolves and Knights have also partnered to raise money and awareness for the Brought to Reality Foundation. BTR is based out of Colorado and money raised by the organization goes towards unconventional therapy techniques, like animal therapy.

The City of Reading will be hosting its annual Holiday Parade on Saturday, November 20th from 10 AM - 1 PM that runs from 1100 block of Penn Street to the 200 block of Penn Street. Fans attempting to access Santander Arena (located at 700 Penn Street) should follow the below information:
At 9 AM, all traffic entering the city on the Penn Street Bridge will be diverted through a temporary special traffic lane going left on North 2nd Street to Court Street
Visitors and residents attempting to access the DoubleTree hotel and parking garage (located across the street from Santander) are encouraged to take the special lane to Court Street to the hotel parking lot at 701 Court Street
The 6th and Cherry Parking Garage will also be accessible via Franklin Street.
