Reading, Pa. (Nov. 23)- Alvernia University (4-2) defeated Saint Elizabeth University (0-7) 89-62 in an offensive outpouring, as
Malik Green led the charge with 25 points in a non-conference Men's Basketball matchup Tuesday night at Alvernia's Jack McCloskey Court.

Alvernia kicked off the scoring with a layup from
Avery Walker, coming off an assist from
Keon Taylor.
Jakob Kelly quickly followed up with a layup of his own to extend the lead to four.

Both teams traded baskets over the next two minutes, but a three from Kelly extended Alvernia's lead to six, 11-5.

The Golden Wolves went on a 16-3 run over the next six minutes, which was led by Green. The massive run was capped off by a layup from
Avery Walker.

The Eagles' offense started to click late in the first half, but Alvernia's offense continued to pour on the points. The Golden Wolves ended the half on top, 48-22.

St. Elizabeth's offense came out hot in the second half, going on an 8-2 run early. A timeout from Coach Miller helped right the ship, with Kelly finishing a layup to notch his sixth and seventh points of the contest.

After the Eagles knocked down a pair of free throws in their next possession, Kelly once again answered with another layup. Green quickly notched three points of his own shortly after, recording a free throw and a layup of his own.

One minute later,
Rece Harman knocked down his first three of the contest, electrifying the home crowd and giving the Golden Wolves a big spark. Over the next six minutes, both teams traded baskets, with St. Elizabeth clawing its way back.

A three from the Eagles cut the deficit to just 16, with 6:37 left in the second half. Green responded with a contested layup, which was answered immediately by a jumper from Darnill Brown.

Green walked right down the court just seconds later and knocked down a deep three to push the Golden Wolves lead back up to 19.
Robert Mullan recorded his first three of the contest with a corner three a minute later, as well as another layup from Green.

This was too much for the Eagles to overcome, as they never managed to gain steady momentum after this.

The Golden Wolves ended the contest on an 8-4 run to defeat the Eagles, 89-62.

Green led all scorers with 25 points, along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Jakob Kelly notched 15 points with seven boards, and
Keon Taylor tallied eight points, six assists, and six rebounds.

The Golden Wolves return to action this weekend on the road for the Christopher Newport University Invitational. Their first matchup is Saturday at 4 PM against Christopher Newport University.
