Alvernia and Stevenson Play to 1-1 Draw.

Reading, Pa. (Oct. 29, 2022) - Alvernia University (4-9-5, 1-4-3) tied Stevenson University (1-13-4, 0-5-3) 1-1 in MAC Commonwealth women's soccer action Saturday night at Alvernia. 

Alvernia fired seven shots in the first half with four of them being saved by Stevenson keeper Courtney Wysokowski before the Golden Wolves struck first with just under 15 minutes to play in the first half. Alvernia won a corner that was sent in by Haley Dougherty, which found the head of Olivia Malone to give the Golden Wolves a 1-0 lead heading into halftime. 

Alvernia and Stevenson traded shots back and forth throughout the second half with Alvernia's Brynn Bock saving three of Stevenson's four shots in the first 30 minutes of the second half. 

Stevenson leveled the score after Samantha Wilson fired a shot on target that was saved by Bock and the rebound fell to Mackenzie Grove slipped it past Bock to tie the game at one in the 86th minute. 

Bock made one final save in the 88th minute to ensure the 1-1 draw. Bock finished with six saves on the night. 

The Golden Wolves were led by Malone with the lone goal, Dougherty tallied four shots, all of which were on target and an assist while Abigail Sargent added two shots on goal. 

This marks the conclusion of the women's 2022 campaign finishing the season with a 4-9-5 overall record and a 1-4-3 conference record.
