Reading, Pa. (Oct. 6, 2022) - Alvernia University (3-0) handed Lancaster Bible College (0-2) an 8-1 loss in non-conference women's tennis action on Thursday afternoon at Alvernia.
The Golden Wolves swept doubles play to jump out to a 3-0 lead before picking up five of the six available points in singles play.Â
Both duos of
Leah Bouchard and
Lily Summerson and
Elizabeth Danovich and
Sarah Mies picked up 8-1 wins at #1 and #3 doubles, respectively.Â
Jillian Laughman and
Rachel Rineer picked up an 8-3 win at #2 doubles to give Alvernia the 3-0 advantage going into doubles.
The Golden Wolves kept things rolling through singles play. Bouchard did not let up a point as she took her match 6-0, 6-0. Laughman also took her match handedly, 6-1, 6-0.
Rineer, Summerson, and Danovich also picked up two-set wins as Alvernia took the 8-1 win.
The Golden Wolves are back in action tomorrow against PSU Berks.
