Owings Mills, Md. (April 2, 2022) - Alvernia University (1-9, 0-2) was held scoreless in the final three quarters as #18 Stevenson University (5-4, 1-0) rolled to a 23-2 win over Alvernia on Saturday night in MAC Commonwealth Men's Lacrosse action.

Alvernia stayed with Stevenson in the opening quarter, trailing just 5-2 after 13 minutes. Alvernia got on the board with goals from Colin McFadyen and Cade Campbell.

But, the Mustangs scored twice in the final minute of the first to take a 7-2 lead into the second. 

While Alvernia was held shotless in the second, the Mustangs then put up 10 in the second frame to take a 17-2 lead into the half.

Alvernia was held scoreless the rest of the way as Stevenson added six to its lead for the 23-2 final.

Dane Sabarese and Jared Devince combined for 28 saves in net for Alvernia.

The Golden Wolves return to action on Wednesday at Messiah.
