Annville, Pa. (April 30, 2022)- Alvernia University (1-15, 0-8) was defeated by Lebanon Valley (3-9, 3-5) 16-3 Saturday afternoon in a MAC Commonwealth men's lacrosse matchup at Lebanon Valley.

The Golden Wolves' offense kicked off the scoring, with
Ryan Gilman finding the back of the net early off an assist from
Cade Campbell. The Dutchmen's offense responded minutes later, recording a game-tying goal with 8:17 left in the opening stanza.

Lebanon Valley quickly capitalized on the momentum, slipping a shot into the net just 31 seconds after their first goal. After these three quick goals, both defenses held firm the rest of the quarter, with the Dutchmen claiming a 2-1 lead over the Golden Wolves going into the second quarter.

Alvernia tied the game up with 10:40 left in the second stanza, with
Kenneth Howley recording an unassisted goal to make it a 2-2 game. Lebanon Valley responded minutes later, regaining the lead with 8:42 left in the first half.

The Dutchmen grew their lead throughout the second quarter, adding three more goals to their lead. Lebanon Valley ended the first half on top of Alvernia 6-2.

The Dutchmen carried their momentum into the third quarter, adding seven goals to their lead throughout the stanza. Lebanon Valley managed to hold Alvernia scoreless throughout the third, taking a 13-2 lead into the fourth quarter. Â

The fourth quarter saw Lebanon Valley in control, adding three more insurance goals to its lead. The Golden Wolves snapped the scoring drought with 1:19 left in the contest, with
Louis Ferrara finding the back of the net.

Lebanon Valley ended the game on top of Alvernia, 16-3.

Jared Devine got the start in net for the Golden Wolves, recording 24 saves during the contest.

This contest concludes the Golden Wolves 2022 season. Alvernia finished the season with a 1-15 record and 0-8 in conference play. Campbell led Alvernia with 22 goals this season.
Dylan Mercadante finished the year with 14 goals.
Dane Sabarese and
Jared Devine both made 13 total appearances in net for the Golden Wolves. Devine ended the year with 132 saves and an 0-6 record, while Sabarese finished out the season with 135 saves and a 1-9 record.
