Lackman Named MAC Wrestler of the Year

Annville, Pa. (March 15, 2023) - Alvernia University junior Matthew Lackman was named the MAC Wrestler of the Year, as announced by the Middle Atlantic Conference on Wednesday.

Lackman, the NCAA Division III Runner-Up, finished the 2022-23 season with an overall record of 47-1. Lackman's only loss on the year came in the 165 lb National Championship bout to his brother, Nathan, of Rhode Island College. Nathan took the title with a 3-1 victory.

Lackman, the 165lb MAC Champion and NCAA South Regional Champion, finished the season with 16 pins, eight major decisions, and seven technical falls.

With a top-eight finish at NCAAs, Lackman is now a two-time All-American. Lackman was also named the 2022 MAC Rookie of the Year.
