How it Happened
  • Both the Mustangs and Golden Wolves traded shots in the opening 20 minutes, but it was Alvernia that found the back of the net first. Keen collected a crossing ball in from Madison Rotkiske and fired on net to give Alvernia the early 1-0 advantage.
  • Brynn Bock made two saves in the remainder of the first half to keep the Mustangs off the board as Alvernia took the 1-0 advantage into the half.
  • The Mustangs came out of the half firing, putting in two shots before tying the game up on a goal off a great pass from downfield in the 57th minute as Karly Sheahan fired on net.
  • Just under 10 minutes later, Sheahan netted her second of the afternoon. Sheahan scored off a scramble in front of the net after she was able to quickly settle the ball that was attempting to be cleared by an Alvernia defender after Bock made a stop.
  • Two minutes later, Sheahan completed the hat trick with her third of the afternoon in the 69th minute to give the Mustangs the 3-1 lead.
  • Keen had a final look on goal for Alvernia in the 74th minute, but her attempt was blocked as the Mustangs came away with the 3-1 win.
